Season Scholarship Information

The Arapahoe Youth Hockey Association (AYHL) is committed to providing the opportunity for young athletes to participate in youth hockey at all levels. AYHL's endowment scholarship program has been designed to provide annual funds that are earmarked to help ease the financial obligations of Arapahoe players and families in need. Scholarships may be awarded to an applicant who fills out the following form and provides the required information. All applications and information collected will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used for to determine qualified recipients.

The awarded Scholarship amounts will vary from year to year. No guarantee of financial assistance is implied by the completion of this application. Awarded scholarships will vary depending on the availability of funds and individual circumstances.

Limitations

Scholarship awards are applied to season fees only. Scholarships are not applied to initial registration fees, travel expenses, team fees, or any other fees. Scholarship recipients may be required to sign the Award & Acceptance Agreement prior to the credit being applied to the player's account. You will be asked to affirm that the current financial situation is the same as at the time of application. Scholarship funds are applied directly to the payments of the AYHL Season Fees. If a player withdraws before the completion of the season, scholarships must be repaid to AYHL.

Eligibility

Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

• The athlete must be registered with AYHL Travel, Rec, or 8U Program and already have completed the registration process and paid the registration deposit for the upcoming season.
• The athlete must be current on all previous dues and have no balance remaining for season fees, team fees, or other AYHL events.
• The athlete must be in good standing with applicable leagues including CAHA and USA Hockey.
• The athlete must be committed to participating for the complete season for which they are applying.
• Parent(s)/Guardian(s) must be committed to volunteering for events and committees including but not limited to tournaments and other organizational functions.

Process

The application for the scholarship can be found at the bottom of the page. In addition to the completion of the online form, applicants must submit via email the following documents to the Arapahoe Hockey board of directors at fundraising@warriorhockeyclub.com

•  A written “statement of need” including as much information as possible to enable the board of directors to fully evaluate your financial needs and the situation of your athlete.
• A copy of the applicant's most recent 2 months of paychecks stubs.
• A written letter from the player explaining what hockey means to them.
• A copy of the player's most recent report card.

Deadline

The deadline to submit an application for a scholarship is September 30th of the current season. The board of directors will review all scholarship applications following the application deadline and will notify all awarded recipients via email.
